1936 — Born in Chicago, Ill. USA
1942 — The art journey begins. Coloring books, crayons, knife to scrape, staying within the lines. I colored daily.
1948 — No more coloring books. Just not an intelligent thing to do. Journey through academics.
1954 — University of Illinois, Chicago. Saw my first figure drawing class. Of course I wanted to do that immediately. But a portfolio of coloring books does not get you into the art department.
1955 — Married. The heck with college.
1960 — St. Louis, Mo. USA Two children with a third on the way. I started painting by number. What a joy. Dont need to draw (couldnt do that at all) and I could mix together color #12 with #18 and WOW! Great results. I painted by number for the next 8 years, Every Craft Tint set of clowns, landscapes, seascapes, horses, etc. I even bought an easel.
1968 — Chicago (again) End of paint by number. Back to school and the rigors of the European academy drawing and painting methods. Life figure drawing and anatomy daily. Now I can draw!
1971 — Hippie days. Huge afro, great clothes, flowers, love, hugs and a 6000 sq. ft. loft in Chicago with 4 other artists. First one-woman show of very large 4 x 5 close-up and personal oil paintings of exotic flowers. Show sold outI was on my way.
1979 — Lake Tahoe, CA. USA administrated an art school and taught life figure drawing and oil painting. Each 8 week session ended with the student doing a paint by number. FUN!
1986 — Woodinville, WA, USA Bought a Nikon camera, and my up-close and personal images got very intimate. Photographing, drawing and painting every moment that was available. And then came the Apple computer and digital painting. Day job, administrate four retail linen stores. Night passion, drawing and painting.
1998 — Journey across USA ending in Palm Springs CA - . Retirement from the day job. Journey the USA in a motor home. The intense sunlight and colors of nature called to me from Palm Springs CA. A new community of artists and encouragement. The culmination of years of study and practice as a painter, and a photographer, are the coming together of the two mediums; creating vivid colored limited edition prints that reflect my artistic vision.
2004 — The journey continues.....
